The Apiro rotary unit is an inexpensive option for adding another degree of freedom to a multi-axis gantry robot. The additional rotation axis offers the possibility of rotating or swivelling the end effectors and components about their own axis. This axis can be controlled in combination with an additional motor module via the igus Robot Control and integrated into the product range flow.
Control system
The igus Robot Control enables simple and intuitive robot control system and programming and thus an easy entry into automation. The modular design makes it possible to control various igus kinematics, such as delta robots. The gantry robot can be controlled directly with all its advantages using our igus® Robot Control.
The free-of-charge, licence-free igus Robot Control software is integrated into the control system and thus makes use of a uniform operating concept and consistent communication services for many components of a system. This entails less project planning effort and faster commissioning.
The igus Robot Control is not a component of the part and can optionally be purchased from us. A master control system is not necessary.
It's also possible to use your own (robot) control system.
Alternatively, it is also possible to operate each axis individually with a control system. For example, with our igus® D1 dryve motor control system. With this control system architecture, you need one motor control system and an additional master control system per linear axis or motor, which controls the coordination of the movement. You must then program the inverse kinematics for the delta robot yourself on your development environment.
The motor control systems are not part of the part and can be ordered from us as an option. igus does not offer a master control system at the moment.
