Wind power

The “Tree of Life” is an installation, which is simultaneously usable as sculpture as well as for power generation. Its circular lamellas shall remind us of the power as well as unpredictability of nature. The unit needs to withstand all weather conditions, which puts the use of conventional metal bearings out of question. For this prototype of the sculpture, xirodur® B180 end caps have been used. Such plastic bearings from igus® have a long service life and operate optimally among all weather conditions.
